Here we are, finally, with our first ever video for our channel!
So this look isn't too complicated, and as the title says we went for a nice and easy Joker makeup.
So the product list is simple,
Hair Gel
Kryolan Aqua Color Palette, shade green
Pritt stick
Baby Powder
Water
Kryolan Supracolor Palette shade clown white
Bourjois Liner Feutre eyeliner pen
Kryolan Supracolor Palette, shade 082
Inglot eyeshadow in shade 420
Inglot eyeshadow in shade r129, 391, 55
Kryolan Supracolor, shade 017 (colour correction of brows.
As seen in the video, I gelled the hair back like the Joker did.
To give the hair a green tint I used a green Aqua, this is completely safe as it's water based so it comes right off with a bit of water! So no worries, you wont be stuck with green hair forever. Unless you're blonde, I'm not sure if I'd recommend this. I haven't tried this on blonde hair, but if you're daring then go ahead, just remember I warned you! I suppose the gel can act as a barrier but...
I then started to block out the brows. For this I used the great old pritt stick and baby powder technique. But fear not! I will be showing you other methods of eyebrow blocking if this one doesn't suit you.
So it's simple, you put on a layer of mushed up Pritt Stick on the brow using your spatula, apply a good amount of pressure so you know that the hairs stick down. You could use your fingers but I personally prefer a spatula. Wait a few seconds for the glue to dry down a bit so the glue doesn't mix with powder, because if it does you'll end up with clumps of 'glueypowder'. Then powder the crap out of the layers of glue you applied.
The minimum layers are three, so do that and if you're still not happy with the texture of the brow add more layers.
Then colour correct the brows, this is done to neutralize the area and if white is applied the darkness of the brows doesn't come through. Powder your colour correction heavily, you don't want it transferring! For this I used Supracolor in 017.
Add your clown white all over the face, neck and ears. Powder that too, Supra is tricky to work with, it transfers and slides if it isn't set well.
We want to avoid that! So use your baby powder and bake!
Then I moved onto the contour. Always use a cool toned shade to contour, if not it looks orange and very unnatural! I used Inglot shadow in 420, it's a lovely cool toned eyeshadow but personally I use it for contour myself.
So contour the cheekbones, sides of the forehead and temples. Look at the Joker photos for bone structure reference! I did.
Then add some scratches and cuts. Jared didn't have any wax or prosthetic for the cuts, just a bit of face paint! So I probably wouldn't go all out for that! Just stick to paints. I used my beloved Supra palette.
The eyes don't have to be all neat and uniform, after all he is a bit loopy looking. Make the eyes look crazy! Make them look like black eyes! I used purples, I show you how I applied it in the video, so make sure to check it out!
The shadows I used are in the product list!
Then comes the fun part! Tattoos!
Use a felt tip liner pen, or just a simple eyeliner gel. Just make sure to powder!
Again, look closely at photos of the Joker for reference.
The lips were done using my beloved Supra, make sure to add the Joker famous upward curve of the mouth!
Optional, but you can add some of the neck and chest tattoos and you're finished!
Add a costume and you're ready!
